Develop a Positive Attitude

It is said that attitude determines altitude in every career. This means that the height you will attend in your career will be determined by your attitude which refers to your way of life and thinking. In relation to your career, having a positive attitude implies taking pride in your job. When you glory in your job, you will be highly motivated to do the job to the best of your ability. At certain moment in your career, you may be called up to do carry out certain task that may be menial. Such a task can easily make a person to lose motivation. But if you have a positive attitude you will be motivated to forge ahead knowing that it is just a step to your success or to another higher level in your career. But if you are not positive in mind, you may end up not doing the job as expected and this will mar your chances of getting promotion. 

Respect

Respect in this regard can be of two types, namely, respect for others and self respect. You need to have respect for others in order to be motivated. Respect for the other’s personality and office means admiring the person’s qualities and office. When you admire a person, the tendency is for to desire the office. When you desire an office, you will be motivated to attend such height and level so that people will also respect. Besides, there is no person who has no quality that will attract you. Every person in your office has one quality or the other that will attract you and keep you motivated.

Self respect is also very important for motivation in your career. You need to respect yourself in your office and also understand your role in your office. When you have respect for yourself, it implies that you are respecting your office and role. Having respect for your office is very important aspect of career motivation. When you do not have regard for your office no matter how little it might be you will not be motivated to aspire for a higher office. Once you are not happy with your office, frustration will set in. there will be lack of commitment in what you are doing and lack of commitment leads to lack of motivation.  

Be Tolerant

There are many people in your office. Definitely some are higher in rank than you while you are higher in rank than other. There may be one or two people that you find their characters objectionable. Such characters can lower your motivation. But if you are tolerant you can easily accommodate the person’s behavior instead of being un-motivated in your office.
